Forrest’s Edge Home Brew

I couldn’t have imagined that the box that my wife presented to me Christmas morning 2008 would bring such a joyful past time into my life. I had always longed to learn more about brewing beer, but this particular longing suffered while other more ‘important’ tasks consumed my time.

The box was a Mr. Beer Deluxe home brew kit. It was something I had added to a Christmas list many years earlier, not really expecting to receive it. I’d kind of forgotten about it. I would see the kits in the store every now and then, resigned to the fact that home brewing would be one of those ’someday’ projects. 

My wife must have sensed something, a quiet discontent of sorts, within me. The usual holiday mirth seemed gray and lifeless to me. I worked, took care of my family and that was about it. Luckily she remembered this simple request, given years ago. She gave me this release. Suddenly, my ’someday’ project coud be a TODAY! project. 

In an instant I thought of Forrest’s Edge. I wanted to share my home breweing experience, so I created this site, with the hopes that others who enjoy brewing and drinking beer will become inspired to undertake a few of their ’someday’ projects, too.

the Inspiration

I have always enjoyed learning. Well, learning about how to do things. and how things work. I am fascinated by this process of fermentation that is virttually identical to the process our ancient ancestors used.
